VIRTUAL THERAPY THROUGHOUT NEW YORK

Launching Into Adulthood

For adolescents and young adults navigating independence, identity, career decisions, relationships, and the pressure to have it all figured out—including the fear of not living up to expectations.

Amy Moore, LCSW

I work with young women and men as they navigate the transition into adulthood, as well as adolescents preparing for this next stage of life. This can be especially complicated for young people who have been labeled gifted, high-achieving, or “full of potential,” and now feel pressure to know exactly what they are supposed to become.

How I can help

  • Separate your own goals and values from expectations others have placed on you.
  • Work through self-doubt, impostor feelings, perfectionism, and pressure to succeed.
  • Explore the experience of being gifted, high-potential, or expected to “do something great.”
  • Build confidence while figuring out who you are and what you actually want.

My approach

My work is warm, supportive, psychodynamic, trauma-informed, and solution-focused. We can look for deeper understanding while also focusing on meaningful, practical change.
